    Hi,

Did a bit of searching on the form but can't find the answer I'm looking. I've decided to get off my backside and start making tracks for a Ppl. Reading on the IAA first is to get the medical?

I've rang to book a medical with charter medical but that's not for another month, is the mater just as good? I'd prefer to have the medical done soon. I didn't see if forms needed to be filled out is there any?

    Nice one!

Where abouts are you looking to do the PPL?

You only need a Class 2 medical, no need to go all the way up to the Matter/Charter Medical. Here is a list of AME's that are qualified to do so.

The only forms you need to fill out will take about 5-10 minutes just before the medical starts. Takes slightly less than an hour from my experience.

Got mine done with an AME with just a few days notice for €120 which I think is about average. The forms are very similar to a pre-employment medical with lots of yes/no questions.

I made the move towards a PPL last year and haven't looked back. Best of luck with it!

PPL only flying for private flying you need a Class 2 medical. Plenty of doctors do that. The Class 1 is only for commercial flying and thats what you need the Mater for.

What part of the country are you in? I can recommend one if you're in the cork region.

save me a trip to Dublin.
    A class 2 will also save you a fortune :) (Compared to a class1)
