Redundancy and Maternity Leave

Quick question - as I understand it, you can't be made redundant while on maternity leave. However, my wife is currently reaching the end of her statutory maternity leave and her employer is offering voluntary redundancies. Can you effectively waive the right not to be made redundant while on maternity leave in order to accept the voluntary redundancy offer?

Yes. She can apply and get Voluntary redundancy while on Maternity leave.

Also, You can be issued with a notice that you will be made redundant while on maternity leave and the redundancy starts on your first day back at work,

As long as the criteria for selection for redundancy is fair, this is legal.
