Hyundai ix35 trouble

    Hi all

Looking for some advice, the wife has a 142 ix35, it went in for it's 15k health check and a oil and filter change, and since getting it back it has had a slight hesastation/lack of power, around 1500-2k rpm it won't respond to the throttle and refuses to go,

They dealer took it back and changed the egr cooler but when we got it back it was still in it,

They again took it in and put over 1000km on it testing it but didn't see any faults, they returned it with a data recorder and we gave it back when the fault happened a few times,

When I rang after 2 weeks they said there was nothing showing as a issue on the data, but they wanted to change the fuel filter to see if that helped,

That was done and it's still not right,

This has been going on 2 months now, we have tried contacting hyundai but they never return our calls, the garage has been helpful but they just don't seem that interested in fixing it,

Anyone have any ideas what options are open to me,

Seems to have been similar problem in UK with hesitation on ix35s. Apparently a software upgrade fixes it. Don't rate most of the main dealers over here I'm afraid. Standard of technicians and mechanics very poor

Had a hesitation issue with a new Kia Sportage (same engine) and a software update cured it completely

The main tool that all of the Hyundai dealers here have is basically a Europe wide online system where you can search and see reported issues through out Europe, I found excellent when I worked for a Hyundai main dealer, maybe the dealer you are using may not be taking full advantage of this. Could be if they are relatively new to the brand, so many new Hyundai dealers in the last two years, technicians learning a new brand, even though pass through hyundais training program, just haven't the experience,
The car is under warranty, telling customer care and dealer how you are unhappy is a start.

I've experienced a lag with my ix too but assumed it was down to the auto gearbox. Had it serviced just this week and the software was updated so I must test it out now at the weekend when I'm on the motorway and see of the lag's gone!

Thanks for the replies, the misses got talking to Hyundai and gave them a very strong telling off, now the dealer couldn't be more helpful wonder why :-)

They have it again and are fitting some sort of device to monitor it when driving,

What I do notice is the 151 one they gave us now feels a lot more powerful and they gear shift indicator isn't as keen for you to move up the gears as our's is if you know what I mean,

I must mention to them about updating the software,

    Thanks
