    Hi All.
Any help here would be appreciated. I'm trying to find my Grandfathers 1974 Beetle 1300. It was first registered in Armagh in October '74 then sold in Nov '93. Reg was BIB 1280. Got as far as I can with DVLA. Has anyone traced an old car before and if so how did you go about it. Any help at all appreciated.

It shows up on cartel so it hasn't been scrapped, you need to find its last registered owner which isn't easy for obvious reasons. The best way is to approach a friendly guard if you know one and see if they will help.

    Thanks Kev
Problem is the car would have been registered in the north and the police wouldn't be widely known to give out info on any sort of cars for obvious security reasons. Also for some reason their cut off date for registration details seems to be around 2002-2003. DVLA were less than useless. They rounded off the conversation with a half hearted "I don't know what you should do. Maybe wait until the person that has it decides to sell it". A mind field of useless knowledge

    Thanks
Have already sent an email to them. Just waiting on a reply to see if they have any info on record
I would have thought there was a simpler way to trace an old car but there seems to be a lot of obstacles in the way.
