    Hi all....

Anybody know anybody who can repair the MMI information unit from an Audi A4? The part number for the unit is 8T2 035 652. The unit is bricked (getting red screen) following a botched firmware update. It isn't communicating with VCDS/VAGCOM or VAS so I can't enable the green menu to put it into Emergency Update mode.

When I switch on the ignition I get a red screen with this text:
    MMI3G EmApp 22.27.1642
    MU9303
    Trigger Shutdown in XX sec!
(xx counts down from 60 to 0)
    Mount Error
(Or Metainfo CRC Error if I have an SD card in the slot)
Update Failed! Trigger shutdown after countdown.

As far as I'm aware, what this involves is opening up the unit and reflashing the memory using a connector on the motherboard.

Possibly a job for somebody familiar with the innards of computers....etc...

There are a few places in the UK who do this but I'm just wondering if I can get it done locally (ie anywhere in Ireland)..

    E.

You could try Mick from http://www.germaniks.com/ he's a member here too. Probably more focused on install rather than repair but he would be a good place to start.
