There's a sports facility, and a kingfisher gym just across the road. Why not contact them directly and get the spiel?

Theres no gym. There is an offer for students with the Kingfisher, nowhere near as cheap as when there was a gym onsite.

They had a small gym at the top of the sportshall even I was a student there. Is that gone now?

Yup as per my post above, it was closed last year.

Surprised they had the money to do that. It's a pity they were never able to secure the Corrib Great Southern hotel and turn it into a student-run hotel like they had wanted to.

Yeah agree. Ideal site for them.

They did attempt to purchase it but the owners were looking at longer term values rather than current market values.

From what I remember, GMIT owns another piece of land closer to the sea and wanted to put that up against their offer of cash. It's a real pity, because the Great Southern is pretty much a person's first experience of Galway city and it is an absolute eyesore.

Shpiel could also equal scha. For eg. "Any scha wit' ya....?" Scha or sca in a non-Countryside accent is scandal abbreviated. That is today's schooling over. PS: I charge €12 per hour.

PPS: Is there any Exercise-Classes at all of any form currently being held at G.M.I.T. does anyone know?

Yes there is classes such as Yoga, Kettlebells, kickboxing amongst others offered inside the college. During freshers orientation these will be promoted and a free taster class offered.

The kingfisher gym located very close to GMIT offers great facilities with a reasonable student membership rate. Again this will be promoted during freshers week.

They do a special 9 month student membership starting in September. I will find out the fee for this and get back to you.
