noticed today as the golf schedule was rearranged on BBC1 that the EPG was updated. Does this mean that the EPG is now dynamic for the main channels?

AFAIK it always was. The BBC just happen to be way better at updating programme information than anyone else. RTE in particular used to be hopeless (and for a few years NTL and Chorus were the only platforms Irish channels were available in digital format).
