    It's the one of those things from childhood, I remember learning about, if attacked by a shark punch it on the nose.


    That, and stay perfectly still when confronted by a T-Rex.

    Normally when a shark goes for a surfboard they believe it to be a seal or another fish, usually when they realise it's neither they go on their way

    If a shark attacks you, your best chance of survival would be to run away. Over 65% of shark attacks occur in water, so try and run away and the chances of injury are greatly reduced.

    Personally, I'd write a strongly worded letter of complaint to the OPW for the class of creature they're letting into the canals, if a shark ever attacked me.
