Question re cabin baggage

    Hey guys,

I have a long flight coming up. It's with malaysian airlines and their baggage restrictions are pretty good - I can bring 2 separate bags up to 30kg.

However, the first leg of my journey is an aer lingus flight. They obviously have different baggage restrictions. Even though it was booked on the same ticket must I comply with their baggage restrictions (and hence have greatly diminished baggage allowance)?

No, if the flights are on the same ticket then you have the second flights baggage allowance for the whole journey.

Checked allowance is per the most significant carrier on the ticket, which is Malaysian

Aer Lingus will check the bags to destination and should be able to issue the Malaysian boarding cards as well

Cabin baggage will be per the operating airline, so DUB - LHR you must follow Aer Lingus rules on the size and weight of cabin bags
