I'm looking for a 3 seater or a corner sofa and would love a recommendation please. I've already looked in DFS, Next, Ikea but nothing completely grabs me and am not sure of the quality. The one I have is from Arnott's and has worn very well but they don't carry the ones I like anymore.

Try ezliving - was in same boat last year - spent months searching and finally got red leather sofas there

I am on th elookout alos, have found EZ living best so far. Has any bought from DFS? Lovely sofas but some are quite expensive and I have heard some bad reports about the quality of them. Would love to hear from some genuine buyers as you never know what to believe on certain forums.

We have a DFS sofa that we bought a year ago and it's excellent quality! Has lasted really well and we have a 14 month old so it's put to the test!! Just ordered the Next Sofia corner chaise for our living room as loved it in the shop, and we have just bought a house so need a bigger couch for the living room. I think you do pay a bit of a premium with Next but the quality seems to be very good.
On a side note, the interior design service is brutal so I would be warning people against that!!

I did look in Next but wasn't sure of the quality there either. Very interested to know about the interior design service, I actually posted a question about if anyone used it a while back but got no answers!

I am actually looking for an interior designer just for a general consultation - will post a separate question on that!

Thanks for the replies on sofas and any more please recommend yours!!

We got a modern fabric corner sofa from Homebase delivered for 550 euro in the sales. I was looking for a sofa for about 1 year before we found one that we liked, that would fit and that we could afford.

We originally saw ours in Ez Living but went to Navan and ended up buying the same couch direct from the manufacturer with better options for upholsetery. Quality outstanding and looks great. Got it from Furniture Design gallery. I would recommend a trip to Navan-you will buy direct from manufacturer.

I like the idea of buying from an Irish sofa maker than the likes of DFS etc, but would I be paying big prices for locally made?

Checked out that McQuaid website, but no prices to be seen.

That EZ Living website have some nice looking stuff on it, thanks for the recommendation.

MCquaids deal with trade only but you can get their prices through a supplier or call them and get a supplier in your locality. in my case it was Michael Murphy Newbridge.
I got a two seater and four seater - just over 2K but I didnt see anything around that could compare from a quality perspective. Hardwood frames - 10 year guarantee - acqua clean fabric.

bought two DFS leather sofas ("Editor" model) a few months ago, with power recliner which really is a must, although it adds to the final price.
We are paying in installments at zero percent rate, quality of sofa has been excellent (so far).

We also went to EZ Living, but most of their sofas were low quality (e.g. faux leather), I did like a specific model on sale there though, the "Emma", which came quite cheap and was very comfortable (but faux leather and manual recliner only).

In DFS they often do a 50% discount sale on some models, which is what we went for, I would never pay the full price of about 3.000 euro for a sofa, half price is reasonable if you consider the cost of the electric recliner feature and premium leather.

Anyway, after seeing some Ikea sofas without recliner and with low back (=little support for your back) priced at near 1.000 euro, we were glad to buy ours in DFS.
