I'm not sure if there's a thread for this so if the mods want to move it be my guest.
I found this old picture of the Tara ballroom in courtown, later to be the famous beacon nightclub where I misspent most of my late teens and twenties, anyway couple of nice cars including a beta Trevi, mk3 escort, renault 4's and what I believe to be a cortina in white or possibly a pugeout 504.

I'm afraid the pic is well before my time, 'twas all dance music in my day.

R4 looks quaint but even then they were despised in the job - especially like me if you were in a city centre station. Anything less than a Cortina or Sierra 1.6 just would not do. Though I am sure any country station that had one at the time considered themselves very privileged as generall back then only district HQ stations had patrol cars.

Definitely a Peugeot 504 in the pic. The pic looks to be 1983/1984 vintage?

Had a 4l for a while back in the day, more than despised it...horrible yoke, couldn't wait to unload it, wouldn't take one now to save me soul.. :D

Same could be said about a lot of old yokes , nostalgia and the Internet are dangerous mix, smelly interiors and unreliability are the reality.

My mother and father still hold the 504 they had when I was a little one in high regard.

The Mk 3 Escort in the foreground.

I had one of them back in the '90s. Same colour an' all!

Sold mine in '95. NCT took care of the remaining few in the coming years.
