can you just fill out a mortgage application form

Can you just call into a bank and get an application form for a mortgage fill it out at home send it away and hope for the best. Do you have to go through an appointment everytime you apply for a mortgage.

These days a face to face appointment will be wanted. Cross sales on life cover, mortgage protections yada yada plus they normally want to ensure you've got everything in order and most applications are done online in the brach with the advisor.
