Down the country for the weekend, I have a train ticket booked backed this evening but now I may want to get a later train, how do I change the ticket? Do I have to pay full price for the train back or is it just an admin fee?

    Thanks

Go to the ticket office and get the ticket changed.
There will be a €10 administration to change the time and if you want to travel on a different day you'll need to get a new ticket.

Thanks for the reply. Be the same day I want to change from the 17.05 to a later train maybe around 7pm or so. It's ok if you show up at the ticket office at 7pm to change even though technically I have missed my original train?

If you missed the train then you technically need to buy a new ticket. Ticket office might not be open at 7pm.

I booked an earlier train online before by mistake and when I came for my layer train and realised they had no problem changing it to a later one for me - just had to pay the €10 admin fee

Cool, fingers crossed i get sorted, if the ticket office isn't open can I update the ticket on the train?

They could have charged you for a new ticket but they usually just charge the €10.

Not unless there is a checker on board and the chap on the barrier if any lets you board. If its the last train then you might be ok.
