Magnifying mirror for driveway exit?

Hi folks,

My father asked me to look into a magnifying mirror that they can put up outside their drive so they can see traffic on a approach in each direction.

Any better of these to go for?
What kind of cost would you be looking at?

They aren't mean't to

Magnification is concave.

They are only there to provide a wider arc of vision

No, they give you a wide angle of view (similar to blindspot mirrors you stick to your door mirror) so that one mirror will show both directions.
Only concave mirrors can magnify but you have to be up close (think shaving/make-up mirror) so practically useless for checking for approaching traffic, and you would need two of them to cover both directions.

What's the legality of putting one of these up. Do you need permission from the council to erect it on a pole opposite your entrance. (Assuming you've yhe land owners permission)
