Cut on Front Tyre

I noticed a cut on the wall on one of the front tyres yesterday afternoon. Called into my local tyre centre and was advised that there is no danger because of it. The canvas is not visible and there is no bulge on the tyre. The cut is about ¾ ins and stuck it back with super glue. There is approximately 20,000 kms on the tyres, Bridgestone Turanza. Do you consider it safe to continue driving with this tyre? TIA.

If it was me, I'd change it. Sidewall would be the softest part, and at 20000 km you're not doing too bad.

Happened me, with a tyre that was less than 2 weeks old (tyre cost €107).

I replaced it. I'd rather pay another €107, than the tyre rupturing and causing more damage, or worse.

I always get laughed at when people hear how much I pay for tyres. I always get the "buy part-worn" or just "buy the cheapest, they're all the same".

After brakes, tyre quality is the single most important thing you can buy for your car.

It is easy to spend someone else money but i would change the tyre too. there is always a possibility of a blow out from it.
Go back to the tyre centre and ask them to put their professional advice in writing in case there is an accident for the insurance company and their advice will suddenly change
