    Hello ,

How much would it cost me to send a video game(Xbox360) using an post?
It's just a standard game but I have nothing to weigh it with.

    Thanks,

    EoghanIRL

The game will weigh 90g so the wrapping you use will be crucial .

    If it remains under 100g - then €1.25 , but over 100g its €1.70 ( cost posting within R. of Irl ..

What I would use to wrap it is cling film and then packaging tape . -

    Another question.
I went today to the local post office[]and was charged 3.50 as I was told that it was considered a package due to its thickness:confused:.
    Have I been charged incorrectly?

It would have been charged as a small packet.

No, I'm afraid they are probably correct. The maximum depth of a large envelope is 18mm. If the game included a box it would be well over that.

If postage is underpaid they do deliver it just takes a few days longer.

The depth for a large envelope is 25mm which is an inch and also a tolerance of 2mm , so with thin wrapping it should have been less than this and qualify as a large envelope

You're correct it is actually 25mm. You may have a case depending on how it was wrapped.

I used to always get caught this way, I even travelled to another post office as they always charged what was on the website.

I see my local post office now uses a piece of cardboard shaped like a letter box and they test packages by putting them through it. No more issues now.

Some business were sent these testers too.
