I availed of the free Dental Checkup last October as I'm on PRSI. Can I get the next check-up at any stage in 2015 or does it have to be Oct 2015 (or later) ?

Yip, you can book for any day you want in 2015.

    Just a related question.

Would anyone know how long you typically have to be paying into the tax pool before you would be entitled to this.

I ask as my girlfriend (from Italy) has been living and working here for 2 years now. She went for a check up recently enough and they took her PPS number and it seemed the check up would be covered, but she was contacted last week to advise it wasn't covered yet and she would have to pay.

No big deal, paid up same day and dentist couldn't have been nicer and apologized for the misunderstanding.

Reading this now i became curious now as to how many years a person must be paying into the system to avail of this. Not a bad benefit to have.
