Cheap Basic Laptop

On the lookout for a cheap basic enough spec laptop:
Need:
VGA port (to run off desktop monitor)
Hdmi port
3/4 USB ports
Decent sized harddrive (anything under 500GB would be fine)

Will only be used for web browsing, email and Microsoft Office. So not too concerned with processor or RAM.

Am hoping to find one under €200. Something like the Lenovo that tesco had before Christmas.

Any suggestions? Bricks and Mortar or online
Can't see what teacos have on their website will be looking in store over the weekend.

^ not bad prices as they come with 12m warranty. Of those the e6420 is the best deal.

Morning all,

Doing an online course and my laptop has packed in, currently have tablets for day to day browsing so looking for a budget laptop for my course and a bit of work on spreadsheets, photo albums etc. With a sprog on the way budget is a driving factor, could you recommend any of the below from DID or is "Greenit" above the best option?

I'd still go Green IT - basically their laptops are 12-18 months old, previosuly used in business settings and refurbished and loaded with new software.

For normal day to day and coursework, a 5 yearold laptop would probably suffice, so the green IT ones will more than suit your needs. - I have 3 business locations and all our laptops and pc's come from them.

bump on this. looking for a new laptop again.

got a refurbished one and it was a disaster, returning it now.

any info on deals at the minute would be great.

Cheers for the suggestion, but was advised to stay away from Acer, and wouldn't be going for any laptop near €300, given the limited use it'll get.
