You should start by filling in this:

    1. What is your budget?

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer?

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows?

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.]

    5. Do you need a monitor?

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? (Mouse, keyboard etc...)

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking?

    8. How can you pay?

    9. When are you purchasing?

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based?

Seeing as €10 is over 2000 Nigerian Naira I hope he's talking Euros :pac:

Fill in the template Ant posted OP. You'll be able to run it at 60fps but it'll be Medium settings

Is this a new build? Hard drive is only thing worth keeping if so.

I'll throw up a parts list when I get a chance

    Right.

    i3 4160 €115
    H97M €80
    Antec One €40
    400w PSU €40
    8gb RAM €50
    R9 280X is €195 from CEX
    250gb SSD €85
    Total €605

If you can't carry your HDD over, or want a new one then drop the graphics card to an R9 270X from CEX and add a 1tb HDD for €50

  • Registered Users Posts: 10 lackingstriker

I think i'll get this, I'll drop it to a 270x and get the 1 tb hdd since I think I will download a lot of games. I am from dublin so I think I will be able to get most parts. Thanks dude.

Do you know any websites were I could get these parts? I searched on dabs and they seem more expensive than you said.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭Digital Solitude

Mine are from hardwareversand after geizhals.de affiliate site, sorry thought I mentioned it

    Second hand cards from CEX

  • Registered Users Posts: 10 lackingstriker

R9 280x is out of stock on cex any other website for near the same price?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭Digital Solitude

Generally go for about €200 on adverts. There's a few 290s there for €230-250 which is a serious upgrade if you can stretch

  • Registered Users Posts: 10 lackingstriker

Would you need a 2.5 tb hdd or a 3.5 hdd? lol i'm a noob at pc building

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭Digital Solitude

    Either, 3.5s are cheaper

  • Registered Users Posts: 10 lackingstriker

Thanks, also (sorry if I am asking too many questions I just want to make sure I know everything) will the 270x support 400w power supply because It said on the box when I got it "Minimum specifications: 500 or 600w power supply." I'm just making sure to get all the right parts. thanks.

Yes, for a 270X a 400w power supply will be fine, especially given the CPU you've chosen.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭Digital Solitude

Yeah, 400w is loads. I ran an R9 280X off a 400w for months, it's rated at 750w Minimum on paper.

They always overstate the psu requirements because someone buys a cheap ass psu, it explodes and they give out that gpu killed it. When in fact cheap psus are a problem waiting to happen

Alright, thanks for letting me know.
