Access to Son - Ex's fast one...

    Hi there,

I am going through the same myself. My ex has three kids and each is with a different Dad. My Son is the youngest. I have tried to be as accommodating as possible so that she has family time with all three. I fully respect her as a Mum and I was mad about both her daughters.

When I went to court to get more access, my ex & her solicitor pulled a fast one. In what I thought was an amended agreement, building on the previous one, it replaces the previous one. I have gone from seeing him every weekend and overnight stays every second weekend, to losing the every Saturday bit.

I tried to be nice by reaching agreement with her in court before going before the judge, but I have completely lost all trust in her. I don't understand how it can be good for him to not see his dad. Her justification is that the father of her second child and herself get on well and he sees a lot of his daughter. He does, but he is at her beck & call all the time and is always putting his hand in his pocket. I always want to pay for my Son, but I've seen the money go on things nothing to do with kids - let's just say 'socialising'.

I am going to see my Son tomorrow but I am terrified at the prospect of the weekend after. He is 18 month old, my world. I am working in a different City and have to drive 2 hours midweek to see him for 90 minutes.

I feel your pain. I've nothing against single mothers - they should be fully supported, but as a single Dad I have practically no rights and the only option is to ne nice and hope for the best. The last time I was nice she stole 1000 euro off me :-)

    What can we do?
