Weekend away in Ireland 17&18 July 2015

    Trying to find a weekend away in Ireland somewhere accessible by train or bus this evening from Dublin. Can't find accomadation anywhere. Do places not take bookings this late?
    If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful. Thanks

    Most places will take bookings this late but it's down to whether or not space is available...

    friday and especially saturday is usually very busy in the touristy spots so you are going to pay through the nose for anything in the likes of westport, galway city even carrick on shannon and athlone at this late stage

    just looking at trivago there are still places available for tonight in those 4 towns. bush hotel (right in the middle of carrick) is available for tonight for €79 but not available tomorrow. creggan court (about 2 miles outside athlone town centre) is available for €69 tonight but again all booked up for tomorrow
