I ordered a package online and it was delivered to my house by nightline couriers but I was unable to make it to the door in time. The nightline van was parked across the road but I have s young child so couldn't leave the house. I have no tracking number as I ordered the item from a clothing website which didn't give me a tracking number for nightline.

Surely I should have gotten a phone call or at least a slip posted through the door saying that a courier called??

I never get them anymore! Unfortunately. Not from them, UPS, Fastway or DPD. I think they rely on you using online tracking :/. BTW I've ordered from Littlewoods who don't give you a tracking number when you order but if you call them then they give it to you, so maybe the retailer you used would do the same thing.

    Unless it's An Post, actually.

Yes you should, some drivers what they do is try deliver later on the day if they know they might be in the area again. Another option is to contact your local depot to arrange delivery on another date.

Yes, you can try to contact your local depot.

    But...

It's the seller who has a contract with them, so they're not enforced to help you (although they probably would).

Contact seller to provide you a tracking number - it'll make the whole thing easier. :)
