Kona Rove AL - Any recommendations?

Hi All. So my bike got robbed last week and I'm shopping around for a new one. The old bike was a Giant Rapid 4 that I mainly used for commuting (around 12km each way).

I'm currently looking at getting a road/tourer/cyclo-cross bike that I can stick mud guards and a carrier on. I'm getting it on the bike to work scheme and ideally I'd like to keep it within the €1000 but am willing to go a bit outside it if needs be.

I was looking at the Kona Rove AL (can't link as I'm too new), can anyone comment on whether it's a decent bike? Or recommend something similar? I did a search fro the Kona but only found comments relating to the Kona Rove (the more expensive, heavier older brother to the Rove AL).

Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated :) The amount of bikes out there to choose from can be a bit overwhelming.
