Killaloe to Dublin by public transport?

    Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone will be able to give me a better option than Google Maps is currently showing! I'm going to be down in Killaloe in August and need to get to either Dublin city leaving on a Friday afternoon, or Dublin Airport for about midday on Saturday.

I'll have a lift to whichever bus/ train station that would make the trip as short, simple and pain-free as possible (I will probably be very hungover) as long as it's not really really far away!

Is the train from Limerick an option, and would that involve changes? Or is there a bus that goes the whole way?

    Thanks in advance!

I remember an Accordion player who was visiting there said he was going to get Dublin Coach back from their Annacotty stop to Dublin, there might be a bus to Annacotty from Killaloe?

Train from Birdhill, only a mile or 2 from Killaloe.

+1 From Birdhill there are two trains a day (Mon-Sat) to Dublin Heuston, both involve a change (4 mins wait) in Ballybrophy. Depart at 07:03 (arrive Heuston 09:55) or depart 17:24 (arrive Heuston 20:00).

If it's the August bank holiday w/e then the times may be different, check the Irish Rail website closer to the time for timetable alterations.

The other option is get a lift to Limerick or Nenagh and catch an airport bus there.
