Could be if the calving shed had good wifi coverage.. they are not IP rated either.. so wouldn't last too long outdoors i reckon...
Or if you had an old smart phone you could hotspot it..

What distance from calving shed to house?

300 metres someone told me tp links would extend the wifi cover . u plug it in the house and a second plug goes in the shed

Never thought of using powerline adaptors tbh, @300m i would think it would be beyond a useful range.. you could could speed test it..

Was talking to a very elderly neighbour before xmas who was quoted 2800 to put up 3 PTV cameras about 300 metres from the house. Boiled my blood so I set up a replica of my system today for him as follows:

https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-NanoStation-locoM2-2-4GHz-Outdoor/dp/B004EGI3CI * 2 - I'm carrying the wireless from my house through trees, over a shed to another shed about 300/400 metres away form the house with absolutely no issue.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012FQLPG4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - Great camera & works well in the dark too if you forgot to turn on the lights!
Simple wireless router, could use a basic hub too but always handy to have wifi in the yard I think!
Ended up getting 2 PTZ cameras and 1 static camera for him as that made more sense than a third PTZ.

If anyone wants to set up something similar feel free to drop me a message or if your wondering about quality or anything just let me know and I can set you up to see the quality of the cameras, work on a free app on a smart phone or from a PC. There really basic to set up but if you get righty stuck on them just let me know and I can lend a hand! No need to support CCTV companies exploiting the ****e out of you for something so easy!

640 euro for the 3 cameras up and running including all cables and clips for putting them onto timber etc + as an advantage has wifi in milking parlour, crush and main shed & a spare port for running an additional camera.

Mighty value. Fair play to you for helping him out.
Sitting in the jeep in the yard here wishing that I had 1 of those set ups. But I live 4 miles from my yard. What's a ptz camera btw?

Basically it moves and you're able to zoom and you get different angles
