Cavan to Limerick

    Can it be done without a car? I've never been, although its no wonder since its seems impossible through public transport. Even anything from Longford to Limerick? Will be a real pisser/expensive if Ive to go to Dublin first then there to Limerick and back. I've heard about buses from Granard although possibly only during college term?

    I know you can get a bus to limerick from dublin one way for a tenner. http://www.dublincoach.ie/timetables-fares/M7-bus-ennis-limerick-to-dublin-city.php

    I dunno about going from Cavan to Dublin though. Anything in particular you need to come down for?

    Look at www.a-b.ie (national journey planner) for journey options.

    You may be able to go via Athlone.

    Bus Eireann routes 65 and 72 connect Cavan with Athlone and Athlone with Limerick respectively.
