    Can anyone recommend tan tights?

I usually get a pack of two from dunnes which look great but they ALWAYS ladder before lunch...

(I dont like penneys, have to wear tights no bare legs).

    Pretty polly? M&S?

    thanks

My faves are ''Marie Claire''. Can be got in Supervalue and most convenience stores. And not too expensive either, I find that they are as good a quality as there is. Another thing that I like about them is that ''noylonie feel'' that is not to be found in other tights.

I know you've said you don't like Penneys- but their "emergency tights" (or something like that) are really natural looking and a steal at €2.50 for 3 individually wrapped pairs!

I can't comment on any other ones...I used to wear Dunnes but I didn't like the really high sheen that all of them seemed to have, and the Penney's ones are a much nicer colour imo so I haven't ventured any further since I discovered them!

Might be worth a shot, or they're even handy to have in your handbag if you do get a ladder :P

If you spend a bit more money on tights, you will save money in the long run. Buy from companies who specialise in them and you'll have them years.

Try Wolford, around €20 a pair but they really do last a whole lot longer than 10 pairs from Dunnes would.

Oroblu are very good mid range tights. I tried their free delivery last week and it took three days and I think that courier missed me previous day.

I have tried every tights available believe me! I might get 3 or 4 wears from pennys or dunnes. I only recently discovered Wolford after a friend recommended them. You would pay 30euro for a pair in BT's or Arnotts. The have them for 18-20 in Wolfords in the Kildare outlets. I recently got 4 for the price of 3. They could quite literally do me for a year. Cold wash and perfect everytime. They are sooo comfortable and look amazing.

Try the Neon 40 range. Gobi is the nice warm tan colour. The Satin touch are nice too but are only 20 Denier. The Neon 40 are such good quality you can feel it. They are like a foundation on your legs too. Everything is covered up.

I agree with Wolford. They are expensive but the quality is fantastic and you get loads of wears out of them. There is an outlet store in Kildare Village where you could save some money on them. I really like the shade of the tan too. It doesn't have that weird orangey tone.

They seem an extortionate price but i'm literally getting one wear out of my tights so that adds up! I've never tried expensive tights but i'll give it a go on your recommendations! I like the idea of a good fit too, all the hiking up is very unbecoming!!!! LOL

You just have to be a little more careful. The last thing you want to do is catch your leg with a heel while wearing them. No tights are going to be resistant against these little accidents. It happened me and I was fuming. You live and learn!

Good luck with you wolfords. They do say once a wolford girl always a wolfed girl!

Well i got my Wolfords :)

I chose Satin 20 in Gobi I think they were 23e in BT's.

I'm definitely converted despite the price. The size is quite generous I should have got a size smaller so they are a little big but that's ok I know for next time. I also found the Gobi colour a little light but again trial and error.

I do have a few little nicks on them after about 8 wears but I am a hardcore tight ladder-er so that's still good for me!

All in all very comfortable and i really don't think id go back to "normal tights".

    xx

I buy mine mostly from Penney's but I buy the more expensive ones that come in a 2-pack, red packet. They're quite good quality and I usually get a few washes from them before they ladder.

While Wolford are great tights I can't get rid of suspicion that you pay about 20-30% premium because they are Austrian brand. (The same goes for German brands, I am certain Betty Barclay or especially Gerry Webber are overpriced). There are plenty of good, a bit cheaper brands that do for everyday wear. Calzedonia, Aristoc, Omsa, Sisi, Oroblu, Falke all have great selection of tights. Not all are good and not all will suit everybody but there is good variety. It's just that the selection in Ireland isn't that great (outside BT). I think tights are one thing that pays to buy when you are somewhere on the continent. I know The same Omsa tights are more than twice the price in my local lingerie shop than in my home country.

I have tried everywhere including online to get them cheaper. I have no problem paying 54euro for 4 pairs which is what I paid in Kildare outlets last time.
