Someone on here might answer this.

Any of you know if a wrong date that match was played would render a refs report invalid?

No. No single piece of the report being incorrect invalidates the report as a whole.

Nope, there used to be a lot of loopholes for ref reports, stuff like name not being in Irish, pitch being called the wrong thing or whatever, now it's pretty much common sense and any appeal based on a technicality will be thrown out very quickly.

Your only hope is if the ref got your name wrong; got the foul classification wrong; cited the incorrect rule no for same foul. Failing all of the above, you could do worse than give Frank Murphy a call. If he can't get you off, you may take your punishment.

Ok thanks folks. Frustrating to say the least but I'll just have to let it go.

Another thing to note, if you get off on a technicality and it irks the ref have no doubt that you'll be pulled on every technicality the next time you play a game with the same ref, refs have no problem admitting making a mistake but hate being made a fool of.
