I didn't realise the tests had a shelf life so when I got neg on Internet cheapies I tried my FR left over from last year. Faint line but then noticed exp date of 6 mths ago. :-(

I guess there's no point getting excited til I buy a new test for tomorrow morning.!

Meh - I wouldn't put too much stock in the dates. I've been using out of date tests (OPK and HPT) from before my pregnancy with DS - my understanding is that they become less sensitive as they get older so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks. I'm afraid to lose the run of myself but if that's the case would that explain faint line ? I'm 2 days late so not testing too early, I don't think anyway.

I'm interested in this experiment as I've a heap of expired OPK's and HPT's that I'm still using.

My logic is that the control line tells you the test worked, therefore the second line is a line..(??)

If I were you, I'd be quietly optimistic and get another test today. :)

I use out of date tests too (within reason) and think it's fine. Good luck.

After all that I've decided to wait for another day or 2 to test again ! Just to be sure.

13/14 dpo now and high temp still so feeling hopeful. But afraid to test today !

How are you not going mad without testing?

Well yes but my cycles had been irregular since I stopped breastfeeding so I was extra cautious however I took a CB digi today and got my bfp! Thrilled. ( and yes, out of date FR must have worked).

Congrats! Man I had no patience. I had the cheapy cardboard ones and got a very very faint line. I then accidentally took an out of date one, literally was in tesco within 15 mins for two more up to date ones. Nearly died waiting for my OH to get home from the cinema to take the second/third. I then used the cheapies daily for like two weeks to convince myself rofl

Shortlived.. Af arrived yesterday. Looks like a chemical pregnancy. Ironically, after reading others experience of same made me wait a good few days to test. Waited 16dpo.

All over after a day of joy. So extremely sad.
