No job and cant go to college

I'm posting anonymously as I am a regular-ish poster and have boards friends. I've read here in the past and have seen really helpful and considerate replies, so I'm hoping someone can help me.
I've just finished my second year of a three year degree in a Dublin college, and I'm from a very small rural town. Im an only child, and my parents income for this year is such that I cannot get a grant, but also cannot be supported by them financially next year. I got the full maintenance grant in first and second year, but a very small financial change means I am no longer eligible. And my major problem is that i CANNOT get a job. We knew it would be critical for me to work this summer, but the business where I worked for the past two summers has closed, adn though I have a good reference from them and a relatively good CV with some interesting volunteering on it, I cant get anything. I did some volunteering at the start of this summer again to improve my CV again and show that I was willing to work, but it hasnt helped, and because of petrol costs I cannot keep travelling for unpaid work.
My parents don't want me to take out a loan to pay for college next year, and I was ok with taking a year out to earn some money so I can pay my own way, but this clearly hasnt happened. So basically as it stands, I have no job, and can't go back to college in september. If I still cant get a job, I cant go back the following year either.
Im so, so bored. I live in a very quiet area, miles away from anywhere, and cannot drive (cant afford to learn). I literally cant deal with the thought of spending the rest of teh summer like this, and I dont know whats going to happen after that. Ive dropped CV's into every business in town, applied from numerous jobs online, and spend ages looking in papers/online every day, and I never get any response. Improving my CV is an impossibility for now, unless it can literally be done from home.
This situation is one I can;t see any way to solve, adn I am going mad at home with just my parents here every day so if anyone has any suggestions or ideas id be so so grateful.

If you can get a loan to finish college then I would go for it

Also get a bike if you can. You don't need a licence and with practice distance becomes less of an issue. This will help expand your job search area

    Take a loan.

As for work, cheaply travel somewhere there is seasonal work in Europe and work there for the summer.

As many others have said, take out a loan. It's just a year and you should be able to survive on a lot less than people living outside of work.
