    Hi Guys,

Just wondering if someone here can offer any advice from past experiences.

I am looking to book travel insurance for a single trip for a relative who has a pre exisiting medical condition.

    Cheers

You are being rather vague as to what you need to know.

Have you already been looking at travel insurance policies? Do they specifically mention the condition that this person has? If they do & you answer truthfully that you have it, they will do one of two things. They will either charge you a higher premium for coverage. Or they may decline to offer you coverage, as the condition is too high risk. It depends on the medical condition. They aren't all treated equally.

If you don't disclose the preexisting condition, you purchase the policy anyway & if you have to make a claim related to the condition, the insurance company will probably refuse to pay out, as well as come after you for any expenses already incurred. By not declaring it, you broke the terms of the contract, thereby rendering it null and void.

GoInsure have an online screening system. As Proud Dub said they will either insure at an extra cost or wont cover the illness.

    Hey

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for being vague, I just didnt want to give specifics.

Basically its not a terminal illness but is something that we feel should be declared - therefore I just wanted to get an idea of some insurance companies that might be open to insuring in these instances.

Thanks ger664, have you experience of going with goInsure?

Herself had Breast Cancer 3-4 years ago non terminal thank god, they where the only ones who covered it at a reasonable cost.
