    Hi all,

I have a small crossbow, which is legal in Northern Ireland, and I wanted to apply for a license to bring it over the border. Am I able to apply for one? As I'm not a resident.

As far as I know, a crossbow is considered similar to a firearm, in that you'd need a license from your local Garda Superintendent. That would apply regardless of any rights in another jurisdiction.

I realise that. My question is am I allowed a license as I'm not a resident?

Also I don't have a local Garda Superintendent, so do I pick one near where I'm likely to use the crossbow?

You could try posting your question in the Shooting forum as you should find those guys know their firearms legislation.
