    Hey,

Having lots of issue since moving in house.

My line is 5.x km (several technicians came with their tool to measure)

So ADSL is out of scope, even with profile of 512kb, the modem doesn't take it. Quality of line is bad too I guess.

But line is 1.2 Km from Cab that is E-Fibre enabled, but eircom says can't get E-fibre on the line but everyone else has E-Fibre on this cab. (in fact the map wholesale site show area all E-Fibre)

UPC is not available for broadband in my street.

I had to cancel my broadband from eircom as I don't want to be charged for a service they can't deliver.

What are my options ? Eircom rep when I called suggest I close my account as this is the easiest solution for them... (serious 2 of them told me that in customer care). Their system says no E-Fibre and ADSL not working so just close the account.

Legally Eircom has to provide a telephone line, but has the regulation not changed that they provide some sort of BB ?

Forgot to say, does the Rural scheme roll out in place apply to Dublin 15 area ? Carpenterstown Area.

They have to provide you dial up where reasonable (AKA where itll cost em less than €7K).

My guess would be you're not actually running through that cab, just past it perhaps. Your loop length is probably more like 7km if you're in-viable.

Well, the technician who came to the house, as he connected the line, gave me the exact cab number (it shows on their software and he drove to the cab after he left his tool running to make noise on the line)

All technician that came says I should be able to get E-Fibre, but as they are not from Eircom but an outsourcer, have no impact once I call eircom I get a simple not possible just close the line.

Surely, if length from cab is 1.2km, the Efibre has a max range of 2km. I understand I won't get full speed, but even broadband of 8Mb will do me.

Could you explain the "just past the cab" ? (they connected it on a port on this cab, is there some sort of bridging between cab ?

If the KNN techs have confirmed that you are connected to that cab then its safe to assume you are. That device he used was a toner, that allows him to trace the line and confirm it runs where it should.

Even at 1500m you should easily sync, so your line must be knackered. Thats the only reason why it shouldn't prequalify for VDSL. Complain again and ask the KNN guys that come out to refer it to eircoms own guys, they might be able to fix it.
