Thought it might be helpful to some given the increases in insurance this year.

I was €550 with FBD two years ago, €620 with them last year and this years renewal just came in for €1050. Still have to visit a few local brokers and hear back from online ones but here's a summary of quotes I've gotten today on the internet:

Details: 26YO,2005 1.9Diesel,Full License 8Years, NCB 6 years,0 Points,0 Claims in last 5 years etc No details to load the premium by anything really.

All the prices are for TPFT,some may have a slight variation for windscreen cover and also for people to remember all companys have different excesses and benefits to cheapest might not always be the best!

    Liberty Mutual
    TPFT €764
Chill (AXA Motor FirstStandard) TPFT €779
    AVIVA TPFT NO Quote
    AIG AUTO DELUXE TPFT €841
    Aliianz TPFT €875
    One Direct TPFT €1000
AA VALUE €641 AA MOTOR €697
    No Nonsense NO QUOTE
    123.ie TFT €677
    Campions Insurance TPFT €866
    First Ireland €2400
    Britton insurance €775 TPFT
    25plus.ie TPFT €594 (25plusEXTRA €663)
    AXA €1050

I'd probably go with AA or 123.ie at those prices, 25plus.ie is the cheapest but have seen some reviews saying they're a disaster sometimes for receiving the documents or if you need to get in contact with them.

Feel free to add your latest quotes too

I did a similar one a few years ago. Shows well how important it is to shop around.

All the prices are for TPFT,

Did you specifically ask for this or were the comprehensive quotes higher? TPFT is often more expensive because people asking for that are percieved to be a higher risk.

I would agree, dreadful shower to deal with. I went with them this year because they were significantly cheaper than my renewal and other online quotes but TBH it was not worth the hassle and I ended up with a policy not covering driving other cars which will be inconvenient for me down the line.

I've never heard of comprehensive being cheaper than TP or TPFT due to the fact that for in the event of an accident they're covering for you vehicle too. Always about €100-200 extra usually but it would vary.

On one of the quotes(forget which) the TPFT & comprehensive were the exact same price but with no excess and different benefits.
