Share dividend question for 2014 tax return

    hi there,
    Getting myself organised for 2014 tax return - question with regards declaring tax on Share dividend $. I get a dividend quarterly and I reinvest the sum into buying more shares - I have not sold any of the shares.

    Prob stupid question - I need to still declare this dividend right even though I just buy more shares and have not sold them on or anything in 2014. Is this seen as regular income ?

    You'd still need to declare them. Regardless of the re-investment, you'd have had an income, even for a few minutes. What you did with that income was up to you, but it's income for tax purposes nonetheless
