A bit late asking now since you've already bought it but if it's a 1.0 litre then the timing chains are known to stretch. You will hear a noisy rattle sound from the engine in that case.

    Is it a distintive sound??

Yes. It's a metallic grating sound. The engine should be making a clicky noise alright, but if it's loud and rattly then you've got a problem.

That said, you've bought it now
