Hi folks, just looking for some advice here. I recently took up temporary full time employment so I suspended my claim temporarily. However, the job isn't going great. I am trying to stick it out and leaving is v much a last resort. I am wondering if I were to hand in my notice and leave before the end of the contract would I not be able to reopen my claim? I a mm actively applying for full time jobs. I made a mistake with this one and it's given me renewed vigour to get a more appropriate job in my field. Thanks folks.

Personally, I would stick at your current job. Any job is better than no job. If you don't like it, or it's not going well, you can either try to change something or look for a new job as you are doing.

If you leave a job without a valid reason you may not get any social welfare payment for up to 9 weeks.

Thanks keith16 and mp22. Trying to stick it out. It's only for a few weeks anyway. Hoping something in line with my qualifications comes up soon. It's given me renewed vigour to shake up my applications at least :-) all the best.
