If it's a 320 then it's the 2.2 6 cylinder engine and not the 2.0 as stated in the ad. Lovely smooth engine but not the quickest and some might be put off by the tax. I would carefully examine the service history but if it is what it says it is it's a lot of car with good spec for the money.

Would you not try this instead?

    http://cars.donedeal.co.uk/cars-for-sale/final-price-drop/9698240?offset=5

2005, Petrol, 2.0, coupe, 4 wheels, seats, basic raw materials and manufacturing processes ... they are pretty much the same thing.
What would make you want to pay the premium for the BMW?

    thanks

definitely a 318ci from the pics anyway. Yes looks good, is the trip tronic reliable on these in general?

Mileage seems low as well for the age

Just need to find a mechanic in the location now to inspect

didnt know the 2.0 litres were in Ireland. Im not totally against these cars but Im not keen on the colour, probably the least flattering for that model. 1450 is very good value though.

They'll both stop and go and turn corners!

Seller also has a 06 diesel Volvo S40 for sale with low mileage and photos taken in the exact same location so maybe a part time wheeler dealer of some sort.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,907 ✭✭✭power pants

yeah, mileage will definitely need to be checked out from a cartell report. It is possible I suppose as looks clean

the price is significantly cheaper than other private sells and around 2-3k less than dealers.

Seller is foreign so I was originally thinking maybe he does not know the market too well but now that you have mentioned he has another car for sale I would imagine he does.

    nct expries in 6 weeks.

is an import from the uk

Because it looks crap inside and out, is finished crap inside and out and most likely drives crap.

E46 looks lovely, lots of tax too but I'd go manual myself.

Would much prefer manual as well, however I cant see anything on done deal to my liking, all seem a little ragged or not an m sport etc

that was a hint for someone to find something similar and post it up here

They'll all stop and go and go around corners like. If they didn't I'd be expecting to see piles of them in ditches or parked up with hens living in them. I refuse to believe that higher priced goods ever have any engineering/design/quality advantages - tis only all marketing spoof. :D;):p

    just to clarify

I prefer the bmw lookswise over the hyundai, nothing to do with performance, safety or handling. Just a general case of preference

if the hyundai was superior in everyway, id still choose the bmw

my point regarding tyres is that cheaper tyres are no more or less dangerous than more expensive ones.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,569 ✭✭✭Special Circumstances

We'll agree to disagree on the tyres, fair play for taking my low level wind up in good spirit :-)

it was particularly good as I answered the original post with politeness and sensitivity when deep down I was wondering

wtf is that **** heap he has just posted in my thread

I thought it was trolling alright but I love giving out too much to leave it :D

Is your heart set on petrol? I've seen 320cds for that price before. May not be as rev happy has the 318 but far more economical aswell as faster.

    add is gone

strange as I rang up yesterday to view it and he said cant do monday as he is in work, so I said today and he said yes.

    gone now

yeah id be interested in a diesel, just cant really see anything on donedeal

idealling looking for the 2005/06. Would go as late as 04 though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,907 ✭✭✭power pants

When I rang yesterday the seller sold the car 11pm on mon night despite not being able to show it on tuesday. Fair enough, was maybe too good to be true at that price and I also got the impression he wasnt so keen when I suggested a garage around the corner to take for a quick inspection

thinking of saab 93, get a decent aero 08 for a good price and plenty for sale on donedeal

cant be bothered looking for a decent e36 coupe, its soul destroying with so many **** heaps about
