I have a pathological fear of filling out forms

I know, it's AH, but probably the right place to cheer me up.

I'm staring for days now at a form to reclaim about 500 euros, the people in that department even sent me a "how to do it" thingy.

Still, I'm sitting here and postpone the damn thing. It's like my brain doesn't allow my hands to write all the things I'm supposed to write, which are only facts not fiction.
And that despite me getting money out of it.

Same with filling out revenue forms (I'm self employed) or the flood (sorry) of water charge forms - or whatever.

It doesn't matter if I get or have to pay money, buerocratic forms just paralyse me, despite being usually very adept in my line of work.

Is there a trick or something to overcome this fear?
Anything to get me going on that bloody form.

if you fill out the form you get 500euro, what other incentive do you need?

What's the worst that could happen? you make a small mistake on a form. Not that much of a big deal.

I ask my wife to fill out any forms and then all I have to do is sign my name.

Get someone else to do it OP, someone that enjoys that sort of thing.

Never, ever turn your back on someone that enjoys that sort of thing. Freaks.

I put stuff like that off for as long as possible, sometimes it ends up being too late then when I eventually get around to it.

For me, it's usually a very important form and a sign that my depression is getting a bit out of control :o

It is, though. It has to do with the Irish and German revenue.
The Irish revenue is, well, kind of unreliable, to put it friendly, the German revenue is, well, there is no friendly word for it.

Both try to screw anyone, basically. And trying to get forms stamped and approved in English and German by both revenues is something you might lose the will to live about.

You haven't seen the form, pages and pages of it.

When light goes down, I see no reason, for you to cry.
We've been through this before, in every time, in every season.
God knows I've tried, so please don't ask for more.
Can't you see it in my eyes? This might be our last goodbye!!!!!!!!!!!

    :(
