No experience of it as a wedding venue but stayed here a few years ago. It's a lovely hotel with amazing rooms. I still dream about the sheets and bath towels - top quality.

The meal was lovely too. in true style of a country house, it's shabby in spots.

one major thing is location - not easy find and ages from Dublin, if that's an issue for you. it was for us after work on a friday!

    best of luck.

I attended a wedding here last summer. It was a beautiful venue and the staff were lovely. The food was amazing; it was served in a marquee where the band also played and then the DJ came on in the basement bar in the house which was cool. Unfortunately it was a rainy day so we didn't get to go outside but the grounds looked lovely too. The couple were from Dublin and so were most of the guests; the house only had enough accomodation for the bridal party so most people stayed in Wexford town, although I think there are some local b and bs. It was about half and hour back to Wexford town but the staff rang a mini bus taxi for about ten of us who were heading back in at the end of the night so it wasn't a big deal.

We viewed it and with less than a month to our wedding I kinda regret not going with Horetown House.

Thanks for the feedback! I suppose my main concern is the location really as most guests are in Dublin so it's a trek! Really is lovely though and the coordinators are very sound.

Going to a wedding here this weekend, coming from Dublin (as are most guests) The church is about 20 mins from the venue so only big drive is in the morning. Plenty of reasonably priced accommodation nearby too.

Attended a family wedding there last year.

The place itself is nice enough but it is really really out of the way.

It has hardly any bedrooms so not many people can stay over.
We were very lucky that my father in law isn't a drinker or it would have been a nightmare to get back to where we were staying (Whitford House Hotel).

Thanks for that, The location really is our only concern as we don't want it to be stressful for people staying nearby. We are going to look at clonabreany in meath too for that very reason. There are so few venues that we like it's a pain!

I just had to come back and repost after the wedding, it was amazing. We had super specific instructions from the B&G on how to get from the church (barntown) to the venue, and we got a taxi back to our B&B with other friends which was €5 a head. There was a bus provided o go back to the maldron where a lot of other people stayed, the staff were great at organising taxis etc.

The actual venue itself is amazing, beautiful house, yummy canapés on arrival. The dinner was divine, according to the owner of the B&B we stayed in there's a new chef there the last 6 months who's doing wonders for the place.

I wouldn't stress too much about the accomdation, we were given a list of nearby accomdation, and there was plenty of transport o get us home in the early hours, really was a great wedding.

Really appreciate the detailed feedback, it's great to hear from someone who has been at a wedding there! So glad to hear the accommodation worked out too. We have provisionally booked it!

We got married there in April this year, we were the 2nd wedding in the done up venue so it was all shiny and new :) I found them good to deal with leading up to the wedding and the day itself but there were a few things annoyed me but nothing to put off another person looking at it. I'm from Cork and my husband is Waterford with us living in Dublin so we were being FIERCE awkward going to Wexford for the reception. However we sent everyone a big list of accommodation ages in advance and if we heard of any deals around we alerted everyone to that. People told us they loved the wedding and there was no giving out about the venue but then again they wouldn't tell us it was awful and awkward now would they :)

The food is amazing, rooms were amazing, the reception venue is amazing, it was all fab! I'd definitely recommend it.

If you want to PM me to hear about the (teeny tiny) niggly things feel free to do so.
