Greetings. Can anyone tell me if someone holding a non-Irish EU driving license is considered eligible to accompany a learner permit holder?

    Why not?

An EU licence is an EU licence.

I don't see why not either, but given that this is Muppetland where the most devious sleeveen gets the sweeties, little would surprise me! :)

Well, I had a word with AXA about this, and they're fine with it. As far as they're aware the RSA are of the same view. I've banged the latter off an email anyway, and will report here in due course.

    Hah! Hot off the presses:

"A Learner Permit holder must be accompanied at all times whilst driving by a holder of a full licence who has held the licence for more than 2 years. This is not specific to the holder of a full Irish licence."

I would have assumed that it is fine also.

EU licences are pretty much interchangable, so there shouldn't be an issue.
