The term Pilot Scheme is no longer used for FETAC/QQI routes - students either compete against other FETAC/QQI students ONLY or against a combination of FETAC/QQI students and Leaving Cert students.

If you check the entry for the course you are applying for on the CAO website at http://www.cao.ie/?page=fetac_search you will see the following codes and the explanation will tell you whether you are competing for FETAC only places or for places against Leaving Cert students and whether you can combine results from two different FETAC courses.

UPD - The score is used to rank applicants among school leavers as well as those presenting FETAC.
MAN - The score is used to rank FETAC applicants for consideration for entry to a FETAC quota course.
ONE - The best score in a single FETAC assessment session are used for ranking purposes.
MLT - The best score in any combination of FETAC assessment sessions are used for ranking purposes.

The way of calculating the points is outlined in this document - http://www2.cao.ie/fetac/FETAC_scoring.pdf

There are very few places reserved for FETAC/QQI students on Nursing courses - see http://www2.cao.ie/fetac/FETACNursingQuota.pdf and you compete against other FETAC/QQI students only.

FETAC/QQI only places will have offers made in Round Zero -

    Offer Date: 30th July, 2015 from 06:00
    Reply Date: 6th August, 2015 by 17:15
In early August there will be an issue of offers of places which go to certain categories of applicant who are not competing with those awaiting 2015 examination results or who are assessed on other criteria, i.e. graduate entry medicine applicants, additional mature, deferred and Access applicants and applicants presenting FETAC (2002-2015) for consideration for entry to courses with a quota for FETAC applicants may also be included at this stage.

    Best of luck
