Coffee Beans For Aeropress/V60

I have a monthly subscription from Badger and Dodo which I use in my aeropress/v60 however I tend to run towards the end of the month.

I'm looking to buy some store bought beans in between deliveries to tie me over till I get the next batch. I know its not going to compare to the freshly roasted coffee I'm getting but am interested in suggestions of what to buy.

I've tried Aldi coffee beans but they weren't great, tesco I've bought and were a good bit better and had been drinking this until I got the good stuff its amazing the difference! I'll keep trying different store brands that I've available locally (i.e. supervalu, tesco, dunnes, lidl and aldi) but any ideas would be great!

You could always order from somewhere else to top up your subscription? Ponaire do free delivery on all orders over 500g I think so you can get quite a small amount for a reasonable cost.

I have tried a good few of the supermarket beans - I always have a bag of the supervalu ones in the press as a back up - they are drinkable but not the greatest. Your best bet would be picking up a bag of something in a cafe I think, if there is anything near you e.g. cloudpicker, bear market, 3fe, or even insomnia sell them but I don't know the roast date.

Might give poniare a try then, I'm not in Dublin so nothing really close by with decent coffee

Lidl do a pretty decent Costa Rican whole bean in their Deluxe range, that's their 'upper' range with the black and silver packaging and logos.
They don't always have it in stock, but it's the best supermarket whole bean I've found so far.
It IS actually quite good, in my opinion.
