Suitable for a wedding?

    I have a wedding coming up in a couple of weeks and was planning on wearing this dress. I have no money to buy another outfit as much as I'd love to!

    It's not quite as dressy or "weddingy" as I'd like but the main thing I'm worried about is the colour. It's a light mint green, however when I showed my boyfriend (admittedly, he is colour blind!) he said "looks lovely, but you can't wear white to a wedding!" He quickly back tracked when I looked a bit upset and blamed being colour blind but it's got me a tad worried haha. What do you all think? Is this suitable or should I forgo eating for a little while to afford a new dress :pac:

    Any accessorising tips would be lovely too :)

    Ah your poor colourblind boyfriend! I think it's lovely :)
    Maybe you could bling/fancy it up a bit with a different belt? The tan is a bit casual IMO, maybe a metallic belt and sandals instead?

    It is a sweet and very feminine dress. Gold belt for your pretty waist, and gold shoes.

    (Oh! I see @dee_mc has had the exact same thought already! Great minds...)

    To make more formal, wear a Hat, if you must, and NOT a "fascinator"; but hair needs to be a little dressier too, for either of those.

    That would add up to a very nice summery wedding outfit. Have fun!

    Agree about the accessories. Think it's lively, and definitely not white!

    Why not a fascinator ^^? Maybe a headpiece would make you feel it's more wedding-y

    @Moody_mona -

    LOL I just think they always look like the person didn't quite have the nerve for a hat. And often worn sort of apologetically - like something just landed on the side of someone's head. On top of floppy hair.

    I'm just not a fan, whereas hats can finish a face, and a look, beautifully; (but you must choose carefully for the shape of a face and dress the hair, however simply, to "fit" the hat.)

    Its a very "intentional" look. I've been to a LOT of weddings! - and my own hats are often a straw hat from Accessorise or something similar, with a ribbon round it to match the dress.

    Thank you all! Feeling more confident about it now. I will have a look for some metallic shoes and a new belt.

    Hair wise (sorry about the pic, I hadn't even brushed my hair when I took it!! haha) I'm planning on getting my hairdresser to do a curly blow dry on the morning of the wedding as my fringe and the front of my hair needs a bit of reshaping anyway. I was thinking of finding a nice hair clip that she could then put into the side or back as a finishing touch. I've never ever worn a hat or a fascinator! But I might try have a bit of fun looking for one :)

    I have a bag very similar to this one, maybe slightly darker. Would that be ok with the dress along with a silver metallic or sparkly belt and shoes? Or would I be better with gold? I don't really have any gold jewellery, but have some lovely silver bits I could wear.

    Edit: Sorry for the mahoosive picture!!
