Alitalia status match for frequent flyers

    Alitalia are offering a pretty generous match right now to any flyers holding status with an airline that isn't part of the SkyTeam Alliance.

    T&C's state the offer is open 'til December, but it may well be pulled early if the take-up is significant. I used my Aegean Gold & was upgraded to Alitalia's equivalent 'Freccia Alata Club' until March 2017. The offer is even more generous for those with Platinum cards - offering a match for the cardholder, several upgrade vouchers and a second Alitalia card (at Gold level) for a nominated person. Would be interesting to see if Gold Circle cards get a match, it would appear likely given the way the promo is worded.

    Even if you travel rarely if ever on a SkyTeam carrier, you should be able to leverage this card for a match with another airline – be that Oneworld or Star Alliance – at some point before it expires.
    Getting a status match is very easy. Send an email to StatusMatchMilleMiglia@alitalia.com by December 31, 2015 with the following:

    First name and last name
    MilleMiglia code
    A legible copy of your existing valid Frequent Flyer program card
