Water runs brown after pump replacement

I'm a tenant whose letting agent has had no luck resolving this issue, so wondering if anyone has a brainwave:

A few months ago, the water pump in our apartment failed and was replaced with a new one. Since then, the cold water in the bathrooms (2 of them) initially runs brown before clearing. The kitchen seems fine, I'm told this is because it's directly from the mains unlike the cold water in the bathrooms.

The water is usually brown only after not having been run a while. To display the effect, it normally happens if I turn on the hot water (activating the pump) then switch the mixer to cold; at that point a gush of brown normally comes out, then clears.

Plumbers first tried checking the new pump, then clearing the water cylinder, then replacing it entirely. The water is still brown.

If anyone has any thoughts/leads would appreciate it (am almost clueless about plumbing myself)

    P.

Has anyone cleaned out the storage tank in the Attic. This is what supplies the Water for the hot taps.
