Just curious whether this is actually a deal or not. I'm not familiar enough with TV technology any more to assess it, though the sub 700 price tag for a 55" 4k seems very low compared to others I've seen.

I think i'd give it a miss.... CHANGHONG is not a brand I recognise and it's a lot of money to spend. You could get a fantastic, 1080p screen for a lot less. If you really want 4K you're looking at around 700 for a 42" from Samsung and the likes. You'd really have to question how that company can produce a 55" at that money.

It seems that line of TV's actually do get decent reviews on Amazon:

I'm always a cautious cat though...

Changhong is the second-largest manufacturer of televisions in China so the brand should be decent enough. If I had the cash I would prefer to go with one of the European brands.

Really? I'd stay in SE Asia tbh. Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, JVC etc.

JVC are just a name now when it comes to TVs. It's usually used on cheap rubbish.

    WHAT YEAR IS THIS??

2015 where the human eye hasn't evolved to discern more than 1080p at the average "distance from TV".

Deep blacks and motion processing is much more important.

Last "european" brand tv I had was a hunk of junk philips that had a non optional disco strobe effect just under a year after getting it. Not that it matters they flogged the tv business to a Chinese company.
