So one of the biggest bonfires ever built in NI is 30ft from a row of terraced houses, on land owned by the Department for Regional Development, yet the authorities seem powerless to stop it being lit.

What other country would allow this nonsense to happen? Pure madness that peoples homes could potentially be burnt to the ground, yet this show of 'culture' is allowed to go ahead.

Good to see NI has moved into the 21st century with the rest of us.

Chep must be chuffed too - all them Blue pallets belong to them. If a normal person had two or three of them, Chep would be going mad looking for them back..

"We have asked them to reduce the size..." lol.

Try burning some rubbish in your garden and see if they "ask you nicely to reduce the size of the fire.."

They say violence doesn't work, but it certainly does seem to guarantee you a pass with the authorities on some matters...

I think adults who want to have a big bonfire and dress up for a parade on a regular basis to show off their 'culture' are mentally ill and should get psychiatric help.

It's part of their culture...sure didn't King Billy collect a load of pallets for a big bonfire, with tri-colours on top and everything, right before the Battle of the Boyne.
