Really fancy Gabbiano in the 16 10 Ascot. has won over C and D off a mark of 77 and also won at the course off a mark of 85 in jul 13. Runs off 76 tomorrow and has being running ok recently while still coming down the weights. I think the 16s available is outstanding value and I cant see it last long. 3 pts win.

19 00 Chepstow. Two turtle doves has been running ok recently 3 4th places in a row and has come down to a mark of 52. Won over C and D here last year off 55. With conditions to suit I think he will run well and the 14/1 looks generous. 1 pt win

16 55 Newmarket. Someone put up Mezzotint recently( think it was mostly harmless). Has won off marks of 91 to 83 and runs off 83 tomorrow. Will handle the conditions and the 33/1 looks too big to me. 1 pt win

Aye. Was me. Steering well clear tomorrow FWIW. I would be interested if and when he drops a few lbs more and drops back down in class - money will likely point the way too. But there was nothing promising in his run LTO and his record in these big fields is pretty poor.

He hacks up now doesn't he :o

Just think at the price its worth a small investment. Likelyhood of it winning is small but 1 in 33 dont think so.

Just done the card at HQ and have the following bets:

3.15 - Amazing Maria - Looked to be no fluke about her win at Royal Ascot and she has improved with every run since joining David O'Meara, any further improvement should see her in the thick of things here and worth chancing at the price. Was 11/1 when I got on, 9/1 is best available now and that's still just about value IMO. 1pt Win

3.45 - Taking two against the field here

George Dryden - Highly tried since winning on career debut as a juvenile, has by and large been outclassed but was running against some top class horses. Ran well enough when 2nd and dropped back down to a more achievable grade LTO, runs in the same grade off the same mark here and should be suited by the likely strong pace in this big field. Trainer does not send many this far south and Buick looks a positive booking to me. 25/1 plenty big enough to my eyes. 1.5pts Win

Merdon Castle -Similar profile to my other selection, has been restricted to non handicap company for a while, running very well in classified races on the AW before being outclassed in listed and G3 company on the turf. Actually making his handicap debut tomorrow and definitely capable off going close off this mark if he is still capable of running up to the best of the form he has shown so far in his career. Talented claimer booked and 33/1 is massive. 1.5pts Win

I agree and I'll be sick if he wins but can't afford to follow them all and I just think connections will have a more winnable race lined up at some stage.

Were the market vibes particularly positive nearer race time I will have a small interest to keep the vomit at bay :pac:

NEWSLETTER in the summer stakes at york. Won a weak enough race at Nottingham 2 races back and last time out was just caught close home by Annippe. That one has gone on to win a group 3 easily since so the form is looking good. 3 pts e/w 12/1.

    Manning is literally awful.

Not sure Kevin Manning is even related to a jockey

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

She wouldn't have won anyway, when she got in the clear she never picked up couldn't even get by Euro Charline. Not a good ride but not good enough anyway.

Terrible alright, that's 2 races in a row he's possibly could of cost her. Had her perfectly positioned early doors but then allowed himself to get boxed in.

Not sure how you can say that, the winner had about an extra 2 furlongs of momentum behind it. By the time Lucida got going, it was far too late.

I would not be at all surprised if that's the end of Manning on any Godolphin horse. It must really have rubbed salt into the wounds that their retained jockey won on another ride.

gonna go with Tatting ew in the last at ascot. Has been improving each race. Mr musicmaster is the other ew claim but im going for the value on Tatting so this probably mean the latter will beat it.

    835. Navan. Secrets safe. First run on irish soil. Carrying over a stone less than he did when 2nd at this distance back in feb. Sneaking in here under a very competitive weight. Just hope he can go on the grass as last time out didnt perform on it. But I still maintain the handicapper is giving this horse too much away and with the claimer being used it cant be ignored. 14/1

5.50 cork. Barnahash. 25/1 looks enormous. has won 2 pt2pts this year carrying a stone more than today. gets the distance. won over it too carrying alot more weight

I'll be on again next time anyway, just about last off the bridle but given rather too much to do, going to go down a few more lbs now too.

Reckon Blueberry Gal overturns Catwilldo this time in the 7:05 at Navan. Thought Catwilldo had the benefit of a sweet draw, broke brilliantly and ran an absolutely perfect race when it beat Blueberry last week. This time out, it's Blueberry Gal with the course experience should reverse things. best price 4/1.

    Bountybeamadam 11-1 ew 8.00 B.S
Won a similar race last year over C&D beating a few of these in process.
I think it should run a decent race here.

Peak Storm makes a bit of appeal to me in the next at Chepstow at 6/1. The other market principles have fairly big question marks over them and he's very nicely weighted on historical form.
    1pt Win
