    Does VHI dental insurance cover getting wisdom teeth surgically removed?
    Is there a certain amount of time I'll have to wait after getting the plan before I can get them taken out?
    Or on the other hand, how much does it cost to get them removed without having insurance?

    Thanks for any info you can give!

    Its complicated

    VHI dental will partially pay for the surgical removal of teeth (wisdom teeth). There is a heading for it on the claim form;
    https://www.vhi.ie/downloads/dental-claimform.pdf

    You pay the dentist/oral surgeon and vhi dental will pay you 50% or 70%- I'm not sure… There is a waiting period, 3-6 months, check with them.

    Alternatively, regular VHI medical policies will cover the removal of impacted/stuck wisdom teeth but they must be impacted….

    expect to pay e300ish for a lower wisdom tooth removal and about e850 for all four removed under IV sed. All four out under GA is about e2000ish….

    Good luck,
    OS
